A Florida dreamer told me about this practice of incubating a dream: Because our bodies are composed largely of water, fill a glass with water before going to bed. When you're about ready to sleep, hold the glass between both hands and energize the water with whatever intention you hold for a dream. The intention can be specific ("Please help me resolve the problem with my sister.") or general ("I ask for guidance about my next steps."). Then drink half the glass of water, and go to sleep. In the morning, finish the glass of water before getting up to start your day. Be aware of dreams or waking intuitions, sudden insights, and helpful synchronicities that might speak directly to your request for guidance.

i love this idea. will try it sometime. thanks meredith.
that first step of consciousness in the morning- upon waking, would be great reminder (as we rush off into the world/ motherhood, day etc). having a physical reminder to stay a minute, drink the water, remember your intention/dream sounds like a great practice..
i might even hang a little charm off the glass of water, to further remind me ..
