My small contribution for today is a poem piece by Linda Pssta from her collection Meditation by the Stove:
"It was never simple,
Even for birds,
This business of nests."
Birds are close to my heart and zooming through my meditations lately. The chickadee that flew into the pane at Rangeley, the fat, fat robin under the weeping pea, the raven with a red berry in it's mouth - so black, so red - they are all here. And I know we are all hungry. We are all seeking twigs and clumps, trying to make a place we can lay our heads, a pillow we dream into.

i have been seeing so many birds too, they do seem quite hungry. max helps my consciousness with hearing and seeing them. pointing. or perking his attention and listening to the trees filled with them. we have seen the canada goose formations flying north... what a relief!
